Artistic Director of the Polish National Opera in Warsaw Mariusz Treliński will debut at the Metropolitan Opera dvojprogramem composed of two lesser known one-act plays: Tchaikovsky's romantic fairy Jolanta, which tells about the psychological awakening blind princess, and Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle harrowing, which must newlywed Judith unlock seven locked doors, in order to discover the darkest secrets of her husband. Both works created in co-production with Teatr Wielki Polish National Opera, Valery Gergiev will follow. In the title role of Anna Netrebko will Jolanta along with Piotr Beczalou and Alexei Markov roles Vaudémont and Robert, who both seek her love. Nadja Michael is played by Judith in Bluebeard's Castle and her new husband will mysteriously terrifying Mikhail Petrenko.
