Futile care Ballet Frederick Ashton is inspired by his love of the English countryside. It is based on the French ballet from 1828 and music by Ferdinand Herold for him to adapt John Lanchberry. Premiered in 1960 and is a permanent part of the repertoire of the Royal Ballet.
