Lyric opera in three acts
As the penultimate season premiere of the opera and operetta file we have prepared for you a delicious world opera scene - Puccini's Turandot . After the great success of the JK Tyl Theatre in Pilsen , we offer this work here with us in Olomouc , and just like in Pilsen Theatre directed by Vaclav Malek. Turandot was unfinished opera in three acts by the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini. Original libretto by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni based on the fairy tale plays Carla Gozzi's Turandot . Puccini had several rewrite the libretto , and therefore its completion was delayed by about a year . Puccini died on 29 11th 1924 at unfinished work. The last two scenes of the opera then finished at the request of Puccini's son by the composer sketches and notes his pupil Franco Alfano . The world premiere took place on 25 April 1926 at Milan's La Scala ; conducted by Arturo Toscanini , regarded as leaders in their field . Performed only part composed by Puccini , then lowered his baton , turned to the audience with the words : " Qui finisce l' opera, Perch a questo punto il Maestro è morto " ( Here the opera ends , because at this point the Master died ) . " It was only the second time a further embodiment, the whole opera was heard , in the form in which we know it today .
