A comedy in which everything clears up in the dark
This comedy begins with a completely trivial defect – there is a power outage in the home. The grace of this obligatory accident however lies in the theatre exchange of lightness and darkness. Once the power goes out in this craftily conducted comedy, the stage is immediately covered with bright light. The audience can observe the behavior of the characters even at the time when “they cannot be seen”. The well-known British drama playwright Peter Shaffer (1926) – author of the modern classic Amadeus, Royal Hunt on the Sun or Equus – he wrote mere happiness from theatre into his farce.
